What is the Darkstar Alliance and why should I join?
We are a collective group of gamers from all across the globe. We are involved in various games from all different genres. This is how we differentiate from other units or clans that only focus on a single game.
We host a Teamspeak server and a Discord server where people can make new friends, game together and have a blast. We play games on both public servers or in private servers that some members rent out depending on the game.
Anybody can join but our Teamspeak server as a guest and play games with us - however to be eligible for DSA comp prizes and giveaways you will need to sign up for membership. Joining our group will give you access to certain private parts on the forums and make you eligible for DSA events and giveaways.
Initially we started out as a Mechwarrior unit many many years ago, and have since grown and expanded into other areas to become a formidable Oceanic gaming group. We have had hundreds of gamers join our community over the years.
How do I join the Darkstar Alliance?

Once you have lodged an application it will quickly be reviewed by an admin so check back on the site later.
Download and install Teamspeak. Run the program > Click Bookmarks > Add to Bookmarks. Enter Bookmark Name "DSA", Choose a nickname for yourself and enter the server address TS.DARKSTAR-ALLIANCE.COM:7465
Once you are in teamspeak you can find a channel to join and say hello, if you can't get in to a channel double click on any persons name to send them a message.
Can anybody view or post on the community forum?

Formation of the DSA Mercenary Corps - A Licensed and Commissioned Mercenary unit called the Darkstar Alliance. This history based in the Battletech Universe during the 28th century and is as follows:
In the late 28th century the Star League collapsed and the Successor States were formed. For the last three hundred years these States have fought over the ownership of known space, land rights, and politics. Now the Successor States face a new threat that looms just outside the Inner Sphere. The descendants of a Star League general have arrived on the Inner Sphere periphery bent on reclaiming what they believe is rightfully theirs. The "Clans" are comprised of bred Warriors that have formed their numbers into the best fighting force humanity has ever seen. These Clans have come to stay and the Successor States must put aside their differences or face total destruction. The DSA has remained neutral in the differences between the Great Houses of the Inner Sphere and the Clans. We have remained neutral for two specific reasons. The first is our own survival. The second is to gain both Inner Sphere and Clan technology for the purpose of conducting business operations with both factions. Foremost among the weapons used in this struggle are the Battle Mechs. Loaded with auto cannons, missiles launchers, lasers, and charged particle beam weapons these fusion powered war machines constructed of articulated armour stand upwards of ten meters in height. Piloting them are MechWarrior’s, the best most intensively trained men and women available. Like armoured knights of an earlier age, MechWarrior’s are popular heroes and their exploits are the stuff of legends. In the midst of the chaos Valhalla, our peaceful home world and several other planets forming the DarkStar Alliance was spared the massive destruction raging around them. We were a farming community which provided important sustenance to our outworld customers and shipped all produce from several non-fortified space ports. During the Successor Wars we were visited primarily by rival purchasing agents from the warring states.
On occasion ComStar technicians would descend to our worlds and service several small communications relay centres scattered about our planets. These men and women provided most of the current news and goings on from the far reaches of the known universe. The RedMoon Corporation based on Valhalla, and our sister planets of Edlewise and Transvallia continued to operate secretly while the Successor Wars raged. The RedMoon Corporation continued to draw strength and built its defensive forces against possible aggressors. Farming and business continued unabated as the civil wars with-in the Inner Sphere continued to deplete the Great Houses of their warriors and material.
Early in the 28th century communication with the outside worlds slowly faded. The visits from both the purchasing agents and the ComStar technicians eventually stopped entirely. The DarkStar Alliance governed by the RedMoon Corporation and our Council of Elders continued to maintain peace and security with-in our small sphere of spatial influence. The RedMoon Corporation continued to secretly use its massive shipping and transport fleets to export our goods and import the vital material needed to ensure our safety and productivity from our Outworlds Alliance partners and other contracted sources outside the Inner Sphere. Over the years that followed the DarkStar Alliance forces continued to train and equip young men and women in the deadly use of Battle Mechs which we either built or acquired through trading. What was once a small militia force became a fully fledged Defensive Force skilled in all the techniques and weapons used to proactively defend our Alliance home worlds as well as those of the Outworlds Alliance.
ComStar technicians have once again begun to visit our worlds. Through them we have learned that the Inner Sphere Great Houses are now aware that our home worlds were spared initial obliteration as had been originally thought at the outset of the Inner Sphere struggle for power. The RedMoon Corporation and the DarkStar Alliance Council of Elders have asked for the visitation of House Davion representatives and entered into talks with the Outworlds Alliance and House Davion. The DarkStar Alliance has applied for and acquired a vendors' license to form a Mercenary force. DarkStar Alliance and Clan delegates from Clan Smoke Jaguar and other Clans have reached a non aggression pact agreement and are opening contract negotiations to provide services to them if our price is met and it serves our purpose in the future. In response to our initial contact with Clan Smoke Jaguar Deathscythe Moon Khan of Clan Smoke Jaguar has opened an embassy for DarkStar Alliance ambassadors. The DSA believes that we may share in its successes against the Draconis Combine by combining our forces. This not only serves our interests but also provides reinforcements to Clan Smoke Jaguar. It also provides for our Alliances with the Outworlds Alliance and the AFS of House Davion.
Initially, the DarkStar Alliance has reached a mutual defence agreement with House Davion. This agreement is the result of friendly relations with House Davion over the past several years. The DarkStar Alliance has pledged its full Mercenary Force to House Davion in the coming confrontations between the Great Houses as each vies for positions of power and conquest in the final chapters of the Inner Sphere Wars now raging to a climax. The DarkStar Alliance Mercenary Force has been given the responsibility of garrisoning and defending the planet Achermar and its surrounding space designated the Achermar PDZ. House Davion will in turn supply the DarkStar Alliance with additional forces and material necessary to defend our DarkStar Alliance home worlds.
The RedMoon Corporation and the Order of the RedMoon governing Council of Elders believe that together with the Army of the Federated Suns our DarkStar Alliance Mercenary Force will ensure our mutual safety while advancing House Davion interests throughout an ever expanding sphere of influence as a powerful force with-in the Inner Sphere. The DarkStar Alliance's very existence depends on the DarkStar Alliance Mercenary Force and its House Davion/Army of the Federated Suns allies. We endeavour to seek mercenary contracts with the Clans now entering the Inner Sphere. The DSA shall choose its path carefully and with determination. Business opportunities abound for those that are bold enough to strike! Wealth and fame shall accompany good fortune for all who dare.
Long live the DarkStar Alliance. May the Halls of Valhalla echo with the war cries of our Heroes and Protectors!

DSA Historical Report - Circa 2010
The DSA became Bonded and Commissioned as a Mercenary Force serving the BattleMechHanger Mod Community.
The written history literally spans over 10 years of DSA service in the BT/MW community. We have participated in 3025, ISW, BMH and are about to become officially involved in MWL. The MWLL Wiki organization has invited the DSA to register as a Mercenary Force in their Mod as of today: 3/23/2010.
When the Studios of Smith and Tinker announced a reboot of MW. At the same time Mektek was given tentative permission to re-launch MW4 Mercenaries free to the BT/MW community. Since that time, a period of just nine short months, I began rebuilding the Force. Before long we had enough DSA members to form our Light Regiment once again. Yesterday 3/22/2010 our Company Commanders were given orders to finish recruitment of their Lances to full number. Our number grows weekly with an average of 2 recruits a week applying for a Pilot position. We are operational now with 18 solid and active members. Our DSA Officers are on duty and ready for action! The Mechbay is busy with activity.
The DSA is now well positioned for future expansion in the exciting time to come. Our history is still being written after 10 years. We now have solid communication with Clan Smoke Jaguar, are conversant with Wolf's Freelancers, are strong Allies of ComStar Guards, are members of the MRBC as a contributing and active Mercenary Unit, have our hands in several Mods and continue to build our Force Structure to a maximum of 63 "active" members.
The future is bright for the DSA and our BT/MW community. Our history is being made every day. The DSA is Operational and stand ready to participate forcefully and with a solid presence in what’s to come.

2010 to Present Day:
Since 2010 the Darkstar Alliance has continued to grow and expand into various game genres. At the start of this decade we were a small Mechwarrior Unit, over this time we have grown into a fully fledged battalion. We have continued to grow and diversify our membership under the leadership passed on between Emy, Ratu, Daz, Mr Pataks and BlackTeacup. Initially through such games as Mechwarrior 4, World of Tanks, Dungeons and Dragons online and Star Trek online.
Over the years people have come, gone or returned bringing us to a total of over 300 registered members.
A key point in the evolution was the introduction of annual elections for the Chairman general - Highest ranking position and his 2IC. Through this process the leadership has been held accountable to the community and only given to those who want to do something with it.
Now at this present day we are expanding into other highly competitive games such as League of Legends, Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, Overwatch, Rainbow 6, Survival games such as Rust, Seven days to die and Ark Evolved and MMORPGs. Our Mechwarrior teams are entering in the World Championship with a chance to participate in Canada and other ranked leagues. The times ahead will be exciting I personally look forward to seeing what good fortune may come to the Darkstar Alliance.
